Celebrating a Year of Impact: Blue Zones Project Scottsdale marks its first year

Staff Writer | Volunteer Zone Scottsdale

Rooted in research from National Geographic Fellow and best-selling author Dan Buettner on the world’s longest-lived populations, Blue Zones Project is a community wellbeing initiative.

It focuses on reshaping environments to address social determinants of health, making healthier choices more accessible and helping people live longer, healthier, and happier lives, according to a press release.

A collaborative effort with HonorHealth, Blue Zones Project Scottsdale launched in March 2022, thanks to a partnership with HonorHealth, The Cigna Group, and Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona.

“We are full of gratitude as we recognize our sponsor organizations, HonorHealth, The Cigna Group and Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona for making this opportunity to enhance our community’s health, happiness, and vitality a reality, “ said Sarah Kearney, executive director of Blue Zones Project Scottsdale.

Through practical, sustainable changes, Blue Zones Project fosters a culture of wellbeing, leading to healthier individuals, a more productive workforce, and a stronger economy.
