Volunteer to Grocery Shop with Duet – Partners in Health and Aging

Purchase groceries for your neighbor using their shopping list and product preferences, help unpack and put the groceries away as requested.

Description:
Volunteers provide grocery shopping in one of three ways: · Shopping with: Drive your Neighbor to the grocery store and back, assist your Neighbor with their purchases and/or help unpack and put the groceries away as requested. · Shopping for: Purchase groceries for your Neighbor using their shopping list and product preferences, help unpack and put the groceries away as requested. · Shop online: Assist your Neighbor with selecting and ordering groceries online, pick up the groceries or arrange for them to be delivered, help unpack and put the groceries away as requested.

Demands of Role:
Qualifications: Ability to drive to grocery store; ability to transport Neighbor and/or groceries; ability to follow shopping list; ability to handle cash, checks and/or EBT card. Commitment: 1.5 to 2 hours every week or every-other week. Neighbors are asked to choose one store per trip with a Duet volunteer, and that the chosen store isn’t far from the Neighbor’s home.
